Club Director

About the Club Director

As an international sports entrepreneur in the futsal world, professional athlete, law enforcement officer and motivational speaker, Rosario Lopez takes his experiences and builds upon his successes to motivate others to achieve their dreams. His straight-forward to the point lectures, training and soul-searching methods will help you find what really matters in life and your path to success.

Rosario has over 35 years of experience coaching volleyball and soccer. His love for coaching began while he was playing professional soccer for the United States Intercontinental Soccer League USISL in the 80s, the precursor to Major League Soccer. As Rosario’s two daughters grew, they gravitated towards volleyball. Rosario decided that he would learn everything he could about the game of volleyball so that he could teach his daughters. Little did Rosario know that he would eventually launch his own club and create a legacy that would span generations.

Certifications

Rosario became obsessed with volleyball and with his professional sports experience, he was able to learn quickly. He obtained certifications in USA Volleyball (USAV) IMPACT and CAP I certified. He is also Gold Medal Squared volleyball certified. He is a member of USA Volleyball (USAV), the American Athletic Union (AAU), the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), and the Positive Coaching Alliance. Launching the Saguaros

In 2003-04 Rosario launched the Arizona Saguaros Volleyball Club and incorporated the program with the Arizona Incorporation Commission as a 501C3 Non-profit, where he teaches the same methods and systems that have produced great players and teams for decades. His model for volleyball has been tested at the highest levels. Developing five National Championship teams, eleven Arizona State Championship teams, with over seventy College athletes which include three USA Volleyball High Performance national team players, two Collegiate All-Americans, and hundreds of elite athletes.

Philosophy

Rosario’s philosophy is to train all players in the fundamentals of the game, teaching them to work hard while gaining a love for the game. “We play to win but not to be obsessed with winning and if we work hard and take care of the fundamentals, most of the time we will win. If we don’t, let us find out what happened and try and fix the areas where we are weak”.

Motivational Speaker

Rosario has featured as the keynote speaker at the ASU Collegiate National Honor Society (serving as an honorary member), Grace Walk Church, Dream City School, and the Phoenix Police Department. He currently works as a private investigator and Executive Protection Agent.
