Articles: Official article by Prep Dig Recruiter about Elayne O’Mara, at the 2026 West Coast Qualifier Prep Dig Recruiter Showcase.

O’Mara, class of 2028 outside hitter and defense specialist from Basis Goodyear High School and Arizona Saguaros Volleyball Club, is a player who earns her keep through versatility and a relentless competitive approach that shows up on every single point.

Her ability to contribute both as a pin attacker and in the back row as a defensive specialist is a real recruiting asset, and college staffs at every level are looking for players who can absorb multiple roles without losing effectiveness in either one.

At 5’5″, she plays with the physicality and urgency that more than holds up against taller opponents, using her footwork, timing, and court instincts to stay in the point no matter how the rally develops.

Her defensive reads were consistently sharp throughout the showcase, and she has a knack for getting to balls that most players at her level simply concede, which tells you the competitive fire is genuine and not just situational.

On the offensive side, she is an active attacker who creates her own angles and does not shy away from taking swings in tough moments despite going up against taller competition. The Arizona Saguaros have built one of Arizona’s most respected development programs for more than two decades and have a long track record of producing college athletes, and Elayne fits the profile of a player that the environment was built to develop.

Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer Honors at this showcase.
